Shared Lunch
Picture, Shared Christmas Lunch
.Dymock Church has long shared some activities with Western Way Chapel, a 'Free Church' in Dymock village, including work with young people and a monthly lunch with a film or talk from a Christian charity who work around the world.

In December, our monthly shared lunch usually has a Christmas theme, and this year was no different. We met on Thursday 12th December to share homemade soup followed by cheese and biscuits then homemade Christmas cakes and mince pies. After that we usually sing carols and share Christmas related readings people have brought with them to share, but his year was different - we had a Christmas-themed quiz; except few of us could work out the answers! Never-the less- a good time was enjoyed by all.

Picture, Hope Cheque Presentation
Our Christmas activities were restricted for the previous two years due to the Covid epidemic, but this year we were pleased to return to our usual Christmas events, including a Crib Service on the Village Green with a live donkey, carols in the village pub and caroling singing round Dymock village, as well as a traditional Carol Service and our usual Midnight and Christmas Day Services in the church building.

Also as usual too, the money collected during the village carol singing, and that donated at the Christmas Day Family Service in church, was given to charity; this year 'Hope Support Services' who provide care for young people across the UK when a loved one is seriously ill, so thank you to all who gave so generously. The picture shows our Churchwarden and her husband, Chris and Bob May with the presentation cheque.
